Over the next three months, Sunrise Cellars will become a temporary home for my work. The residency begins with a collection of original collages and selected objects, but it is intended to evolve over time. Throughout the summer, I'll continue creating and adding new pieces, allowing the residency to grow alongside my practice. Whether you visit once or return later in the season, I hope each visit offers something new to discover.
Being selected by my peers at the Westfield Art Association to serve as the featured artist at Sunrise Cellars feels like a meaningful milestone. For the past several months, you've followed this collage collection as it slowly took shape here on the journal and across my social media. Until now, those pieces have existed almost entirely in my studio—shared through process videos, close-up details, and works in progress.
There's a certain freedom in creating without an audience. No deadlines. No commissions. No expectations beyond your own curiosity. This collection came together that way. Every material, texture, and found object was chosen simply because it belonged.
Now, for the first time, those same pieces are leaving the studio and living in a public space. Seeing them installed together at Sunrise Cellars is a reminder that work can begin as something deeply personal and still find its way to others. That's a transition I'm incredibly grateful to experience.
I'm especially grateful to Sunrise Cellars for creating space for local artists and believing that art belongs alongside everyday experiences. I'd also like to thank Cherry Home Designs for designing such a beautiful wine tasting space that allows the work to be experienced in such a thoughtful setting.
If you're in the Westfield area this summer, I hope you'll stop by and spend some time with the collection. My hope is that the work invites you to slow down, notice the details, and perhaps see something different with each visit.
